 The Pilgrimage church in the Wies (Meadows), which is dedicated to Christ Scourged, is world renowned. in this late masterpiece of the brothers Dominikus and Johann Baptist Zimmermann, Built between 1746 and 1754, the Rococo style finds its maturest perfection. A vaulted oval cupola like a jewel dropped from heaven. A summer festival of concerts is held each year.

From Hohenschwangau village( Neuschwanstein Castle ) is easy to get to Wieskirche (Wies Church) , about 30min drive via B17.

Travel time by bus is 36-49 minutes, check the bus timetable here bahn.de .

Summertime:

8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Wintertime:

8 a.m. to 5 p.m



The church is open 365 days of the year, but its not possible to visit the church during the church services.

Visitors in wheel chairs and others, who have problems walking can enter the church through the south entrance without having to climb any stairs.
Blind persons are welcome with their seeing eye dogs.
